The main factor to curbing poachers has been the use of greater security task teams on-site. Where GACF differs is in its pre-emptive strikes on poachers using intelligent operations and technology in conjunction with GES Skilled Wildlife Rangers.
Working hand-in-hand with reserve owners, law enforcement, and local informants to assist their own programmes and or provide on the ground teams and technology, GACF provides outside assessment to design customized on-the-ground training including GACF’s system.
This standardised GACF system, built on security related technology, is a game changer for conservationists. It is a powerful resource tool, gathering and disseminating information, which will provides a stream of real-time data collection and visual recordings.
Combining human sensors with radar, optical, thermal, and communications equipment, the information can be used to track mammal behaviours and any anomalies to this behaviour, highlighting suspicious patterns as well as raising alarm of possible threats. In turn, this will lead the way in modern reserve monitoring and management practices and will have far reaching benefits, such as quick response to disease and imbalances of the eco-system.
This all-encompassing solution is referred to as the “GACF WRAP”.
GACF wildlife model is a disciplined approach to conservation, which can be duplicated with region specific modifications. The model also can be implemented at both an international and a global level to standardize and unify efforts for conservation and Wildlife preservation.
The GACF WRAP ensures innovation, social responsibility, efficiency of effort, and skills development leading to further jobs and career creation.
The GACF Wrap will be developed as follows:
- Solicit Global Non-Profit and Corporate Donor Support
- Expand GACF’s Ranger Training and Education Facility
- Deploy Technology and Intelligence
- Develop the GACF Joint Operation Centre
- Implement Standard Procedures and Protocols
